Of Sea Breeze & A Whole Sky Sprinkled With Stars

Last weekend was rather productive.

Went on a road trip with the girls from Taylor's School of Pharmacy!

My first road trip with them and with so many girls.

Destination was Port Dickson!

Our main purpose of going was actually to celebrate Su Kee's 21st.

Sidelines was the sea breeze, beach and sky filled with stars.

The thing I love about road trips its the long car rides;

The music shuffling from the iPod and just the no-sense-made talking ;)

And of course when we are at a destination; the food.

Port Dickson is a rather small town.

I don't think I'll survive there. Too used to city life as I grew up a city girl.

A getaway for the weekends is rather fun.

I was actually so happy to see the tiffany blue sea water and feel the sea breeze.

& of course if I have a chance, lay down on the sand and watch the stars twinkle.

As scary as it looks,

I also love how far the sea can stretch out and how black it is :)

And on that night, the moon was creepily close to the Earth and it was red.

~~Some guy hiding in some bush might just turn into a werewolf~~.

For the first time in my life, I actually witnessed the moon rising ;)

All this experience that I can't see in the city life.

I guess staying in a small town isn't all bad? ;)

On Sunday morning we actually made our way up to Seremban.

Breakfast was dim sum.

I love dim sum but back in KL; I never get to eat them, because I always wake up too late.

Dim sum was good and cheap.

I think I am never going to eat dim sum back in KL anymore.

It's so expensive here ;\

Whats after dim sum?

Of course the famous Seremban Siew Pau.

It was so good; but I only bought 2.

Should have bought more :(

The others that eats beef actually went for beef noodles.

I didn't try, not a big fan of beef though :\

But according to Abigail it was good and rather different.

So I guess everyone was happy with the food then :D

P/s: I cannot wait to try out Kolo Mee from Kuching.

Glorious pork noodles ;D as claimed from Kimberly.

How's everyone out there?

Chinese New Year is coming to an end.

My Chinese New Year is well spent.

The last CNY before I leave for the UK this year end.

Correct me if I am wrong,

Time this year is breezing by even faster than the previous years.

I've been counting down the months that I'll leave home.

Too many things and too many people I wanna see before I leave.

Hence, I am here to pronounce that this blog will be rather dusty.

I have been living in the moment for far too long.

Too reluctant to take a break from the life I have now to update this site.

My first lou sang of the year.

Am really a big fan of the lou sang, I think I can eat this everyday.

Haven't been eating much of this actually.

Just for entertainment purpose I'll share what rituals my dad will recite;

You know how you're supposed to recite stuff like "earn more money, better grades"

Stuff my dad recites when I went for dinner with the other day was;

"Study harder, but don't forget to socialize, faster go find boyfriend and may you be blessed with someone who loves you equally as much as us, your parents. & please use your big eyes to see before you commit"

I think I have the weirdest and coolest parents on earth.

Love them to the tiny bits <3

I would like to mark down this year's reunion dinner.

Not that I ate dragon meat, (since it's the year of the dragon)

I actually had candle lit reunion dinner.

I know it sounded really weird but I couldn't even open my eyes and eat in the dining hall.

Blame the LASIK surgery for it.

& to update you guys about my life also, new year with new vision ;)

Glasses and contact lens, off you go.

I am still having this weird post surgery habit.

Sometimes I wake up feeling really tired then I'll go "I'll grab glasses and attend class"

Feels super weird that before bed and in the morning that I only had to brush my teeth.

January ended pretty well for me too :D

The fact that I am now happily to say that I have been single for a whole year.

To all the broken hearted girls out there, we don't need a guy to make us happy ;D

Not that I am broken hearted anymore, but just so you know ;)

11 weeks, 5 subjects and my last semester in KL.

Random question from mom this afternoon;

"What will you miss the most in KL? The food or the people?"

I'll miss all the noise, teasing and annoying each other we do at home. Definitely will miss all the funny text I sent to you and how we always bitch on iMessage, Saturday night dinner, screaming at San, burning time talking to JT and spending time with Kevang :)

I really don't think I'll miss much of the food; definitely will miss the people ;)

Goodbyes, Broken Hearts & Moving On

This post goes out to all the broken hearted soul out there.

I have been getting quite a bit of text messages from different people pouring their feelings out. A very close friend of mine just caught her self in a post break up situation. Another friend caught up in a really complicated relationship. Not close enough to be couples, but a whole lot of trouble lies in the friendship.

Advice?

I really don't know what to say. You might think I am tough because I managed to survived one in the past, but really? When it comes to a broken heart, no words are comforting enough and no arms are as reassuring as the ones that left you behind. The irony in life.

As I was talking to her yesterday, she kept asking me what can she do? How can she move on? How is she ever going to love again? The thing about moving on is that there's really no formulae to that. The first step is to pack up the room, whatever that reminds you of the past will go into a box. Where the box end up, is really up to you. Orphanage, rubbish dump, in your closet. Anywhere as long as you're happy that you don't get reminded of the past.

Then, a relationship is not mostly made of materials. Those memories that come back after haunting you. How are you ever going to sleep? The point is that you'll never get good sleep. I can't even remember how many nights I quickly go to bed before everyone at home is asleep. Why? When you're alone at night in the darkness, that's when the loneliness pounce and try to get the best out of your soul. Even if you can sleep at night, you'll never wake up afresh. I can't remember how many nights I spent sleeping early and never felt afresh in the morning. All that I woke up to is tears and a very heavy chest. This is the phase in life that you dread going to bed. For most people, this is also the time you lose the most weight in your life. I actually lost 4kg in 3 weeks. To look at it in a more positive way, thank the heart breaker for making you hotter. There's really no need to work out to lose those flabs in the tummy, thighs or arms.

The worst damage a break up can do to an individual is taking away all the self esteem. You'll feel as though you're unwanted, dumped and unloved. This is definitely not true. Your mind is so focused on the break up and the one that left, that's why you're feeling that way. In this situation, you'll really learn to see who is left behind by your side. These are then the treasures in life. They might be people you barely talk to, people you avoid having eye contacts with, but with just that "Hey, I heard about the break up. Are you doing fine?" That's what opens up all the locks you have chained your soul with. I know it's not easy opening up to people, but when your soul is so vulnerable and broken, what is there to lose some more?

Why did the relationship come to an end? Why didn't it work out? Does it really matter anymore? Especially when they are so stern and left you without any explanation. The thing I learn about whats the reason behind the break up is that there's really no excuse. At 21, a few friends have gone through breaking up and most of the reasons are feelings fade. Why do feelings fade? What was it lacking in the relationship? Maybe it's time to look at it this way, it's not those that left behind that's not good enough, it's when the other half is asking for more. The key point in a relationship is that you're not supposed to try too hard. I am not saying that you shouldn't try, but not too hard. There's a fine line between determination and desperate.

When will I ever be okay? When will I be able to be myself again? This question is one of the hardest one to answer. Everyone is different. Everyone will take a different time to get over all these feelings. The most important point is give yourself sometime off. A good getaway or cleansing is needed before you can really move on. By cleansing I don't mean by washing your body. Cleansing by crying your heart out, talking your heart out, hugging all the people that assure you are okay, and start searching for the person you are before all this trauma happened. Besides time off, remember never to rush yourself. Never try too hard too. When it happens it happens. Sometimes you actually move on before you even know. I moved on and I didn't know that until a friend told me. That's when you think you can start being on your own.

All my effort for the past years have gone to a waste. I just wasted all my time. Dear, no time is considered wasted if you enjoyed the times. You might think all your effort is gone, but hey, without this person you'll never learn. You'll never know what you can't tolerate in your future partner. You'll never know what's the most important thing you look for in the one. So don't take it as a waste of life, take it as a learning process.

Remember, after the rain comes the rainbow :) Sooner or later you'll see the good in the goodbye just like me.

Was supposed to go for manicure together this afternoon.

But ended up the manicurist had some emergency :(

Had to reschedule to tomorrow.

GAH! I should really stay home and study :(

Manicure really sounded more appealing than studying :(

Nevertheless, we had some good bonding time over lunch :D

Life, relationships and leaving KL.

I really don't know what cuisine this place serves,

The menu says Modern Malaysian Food.

Fried Mashed Potato with Cheese.

It's something like the Fried Mac and Cheese in TGIF.

Just no mac but replaced with mashed potatoes.

We both personally think this was better than ones in TGIF.

Not too filling.

Dry Curry Noodles.

This was good, the portion is big :O

We shared and we didn't manage to finish it :(

The chicken was good (Y)

So give it a try whenever you guys are at Sunway Giza.

Life Lesson Learnt:

It's cruel to leave without a note.

I have actually made a change in decision,

To inform everyone when I'll be leaving end of this year.

& I don't know if you're reading this, but i'll miss you a lot, lesbo partner :(

Back To The Black Roots.

Finally gotten my hair done.

Nope. I didn't cut it short.

A lot of people will be screaming at me if I do that :(

So what did I do?

I just darken the hair.

Got it done at Russell's Hair Salon in 1 Utama.

So practically my hair is black now.

Jet black.

Just the way I always wanted it to be ;)

I really hope my hair don't end up as dry twigs.

Laugh all you want.

Bare face and glasses 8D.

And oh, look, I look like some china girl :\

Always thought I'll look glamorous like those Bollywood star with jet black hair.

Chinese features + Jet black hair = China Girl.

My sister even said I look conservative now.

I think it's really too early to start ranting,

Because the previous time I got my hair done, the color faded after 3 weeks.

So lets pray and hope this color doesn't fade.

If not hell know what I'll do to my hair again :(

So why the change?

Because my mom was annoyingly everyday calling me a lala mui :(

I don't think it's that bad.

It's just that she probably wasn't use to it.

Now I look like an emo china girl.

& I think she likes it that way better.

So in the whole, please don't dye your hair.

I seriously regret dying my locks :(

Now there's like split ends and no longer that soft and flowy.

Then after dramatic hair change,

Time for lunch with mom :D

I don't know why, but I've been very insomniac now :(

Not a very cool thing during exam periods.

Ham and Cheese Toast with Garden Salad.

The salad was good ;) omnomnom.

The bread was a little too dry for my liking, but it's still okay.

Should have changed the bread to multigrain ones.

Somehow, I have a feeling I will not be ordering this the next time.

Guess what?

They actually added some good stuff on their menu.

Definitely going to try it when I can the next time.

Pistachio cheesecake. How awesome is that?

Shopping yesterday wasn't all productive.

I was just happy mom was kind enough to buy me a Lacoste tee.

Something that I've been longing long enough.

I have a feeling this year is going to be fantastic.

Happy 2012!

It's the new year.

Did your last year breeze through just like mine?

Btw, I am not a party animal :P

Spent the last day of 2011 with those close to heart.

Close enough that we can just sit chilling doing nothing and be happy.

Before 2011 closed it's door, I actually learn how to play Monopoly Deal too :)

Although I didn't watch any fireworks this year,

It was actually better than last year's.

Absence of the need to impress.

That makes the difference.

& Of course those New Year messages flooding in from friends living in different timezone.

Just shows how much you mean to them.

Thank you for those who make an effort to drop me a message,

Although I am 8 hours ahead from you guys <3

This year was also different because I felt the need to split.

Yeah, split my body because people are way too kind to me,

Knowing that I might be spending the last night of the year alone,

Offering to bring me out as date, dinner and you know, just to make me feel not so alone.

So resolutions?

I have been thinking this for like the past few days.

I don't this year's resolution will be a lot of different.

#1-Study hard.

Study hard to secure the future that's awaiting for me in the UK.

#2-Appreciate those who care.

I realize that we all don't need a 100 friends.

All I ever need is just that 1 friend that stays thru 100 hardships.

#3-Spend the good 8 months with my family.

8 more months to UK.

Yes, I'll definitely miss my family, especially my mom :(

#4-Worry less and smile more.

Somethings no matter how much you worry, it's never going to change,

So why not just smile? :)

#5-Learn to be a better individual.

I need to give myself a stronger personality.

Just to be more awesome, for the better of everyone ;)

#6-Start building my CV.

One more semester then year 3.

Ringing some bells?

Graduation will be sooner than I think.

I need to gear up. For the future. I want those moo-lah.

#7-Never expect.

After a whole 2011, that's what I notice.

Expectation is the first key of destruction to happiness.

So, whatever happens happen eh?

Another 29 days.

Marks one year of single hood.

Who said you need a boyfriend to make you happy?

I came a long way.

& I'll continue going.

This journey is accompanied by family and friends that I cherish.

If a boyfriend comes along in 2012, I'll be glad to open my arms to receive :)

If not, then why force? :D

2011 was productive.

Highlight of 2011:

Finished year 1 and year 2 semester 1.

Finally managed to do most of the night driving.

Ventures and drive the roads that I am not familiar with.

Gotten a lot closer to those who cares.

Met a whole lot of cool people from Taylor's SOP.

Found my own identity.

Left the past in the past, and moved on from it.

Learnt how to doll up :)

Calling to all girls out there that really enjoy manicures.

This Christmas Eve, I actually went to get my nails done.

Not that I am attending any parties, but just for destress,

Reward for working so hard the week before Christmas.

Where did I get my nails done?

Twins in Sunway Giza.

It's above the Caring Pharmacy opposite to 17 Saloon Pub.

Clearly, this wasn't my first choice to go to,

But since OPI was fully booked and I was quite desperate to get my toe nail fixed,

So why not?

Overall, the service provided is just average,

It's not bad, but not good enough for me to visit the second time.

I think it was a little over priced too.

RM69 for both manicure and pedicure.

Pedicure was fine, with all the scrubbing,

Manicure was just filing and applying lotion? :\

This time was the manicure that didn't last at all.

Now while typing this blog post, the polished has already chipped so much.

Not sure if its because I was busy with report and typing so much on the laptop.

Plus, they don't have a lot of colors,

Mostly the colors that I wanted is not available,

Plus the manicurist seems rather annoyed :(

I can't stand services like this :(

The color just in time for Christmas :)

Color for the toes.

It's actually a shade of nude pink, the lighting made it a little different.

& yes, I have a blister on my last toe.

The top part of the nail actually came off during pedicure.

The lady looked pretty much annoyed rather than concern.

No empathy while your customer is in pain :\

So lesson learn, don't wear covered shoes so often.

I can't imagine how am I going to have to deal with this overseas next year during winter.

Probably have to get shoes that fit well,

I often wear them a little tight because I love it that way.

But looking at my toes like this, this habit has got to die.

Was out hanging out with parents and sister on Sunday in KLCC.

Then sis suggested for this place, since we wanted to continue shopping after dinner.

The bar :)

This place is actually something like Delicious,

It's actually the same management as Ben's.

They serve mostly western food, but with a tinge of Asian.

They have a sushi bar :D

Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken.

It's actually at par with the ones that they serve in Delicious,

I still choose the one in Delicious over this because this one comes with boiled eggs.

The one in Delicious is with poached eggs.

Poached eggs over boiled egg. Rar.

Seafood Marinara.

The sauce was really good and fresh.

Some marinara that I have eaten ended up being creamy.

The only downside is that i forgotten to ask them to change this to spaghetti.

Even my sister agrees with me this one is better than Delicious.

Omnomnom.

Guess what?

They have another branch in Bangsar.

So going to visit this place again in Bangsar.

I want the churros.

Wanted to try their wood fire pizza also, but it's 12".

Need to grab a buddy along the next time :D

Candy Canes, Turkey and Santa

Christmas is over, the only thing to look forward now is the New Year.

How have Christmas been for you all out there?

Amazing? Boring or just plain another day?

Mine was a relief.

The start of winter break and rudy break.

At least I can escape the hot scorching sun and the jam for a bit.

After this Christmas, I notice that sending Christmas cards are really dying out.

All people do nowadays is tweet and Facebook wall message.

Like common, would you scroll back after a year to look at it?

I really have a thing about receiving cards.

E-cards or paper cards, whichever and I am happy.

This year was rather special, I had a surprise e-card.

Can't hide the fact that it did make my Christmas more amazing.

It's like people actually make an effort to wish you and send you their blessings.

I really didn't expect cards, like it's really dying out.

Last year I had a card from Victor all the way from London

& this year was a card sent through whatsapp by Jyy Yee.

Seriously, I didn't think I would expect a card.

I just got more than I bargained for :)

Talking about getting more than I bargained for,

I think I was on Santa's naughty list, he decided to stop all water supply for 2 days.

So I had to live without water for 2 days.

Thank god, I stay next to a golf club,

Your evil plan didn't work, Santa ;)

Turkey from Vins @ TTDI.

This year's turkey was rather special.

Because it's not from grandma's kitchen.

Then of course you expect the taste to be a little off.

My grandma is Asian and she cooks amazing turkey ;)

Dayum.

Every year after Christmas dinner I will really pray and hope for leftovers.

I don't care if there's left over salad, all I care about is the turkey.

Why?

Let me share my favorite way to feast the turkey.

Left over turkey is good for the fridge.

First you put it into the fridge.

Then you must be thinking, cold sandwich is coming for next day's lunch?

You're so wrong.

Then you cook instant noodles, especially those with the soup base.

Then when it's bubbling hot, you dip your turkey in it ;D

AND DAYUM. Christmas day just became better.

Or if you want your instant noodles to taste better,

You can actually put the turkey in and boil it together with the noodles,

But after that, your turkey will no longer have any taste,

But the soup will be brilliant.

So do whichever you like :D

Mac Prep + Prime

This is my new love :)

This is going to be a review on this product.

To start it off, this is my first cosmetic product :)

I rarely use cosmetics, because I got a lot of acne.

So why cosmetics suddenly?

Every girl will feel self conscious once in a while.

Which girl does not want flawless face?

So what is a primer?

After much reading, and asking peers and sales assistant,

Primer is actually something you put on your face before you put on your make up.

It protects your face.

So make up and other products don't clog your pores.

And for people like me, with acne and dry skin,

This is like the perfect solution.

It evens out the skin tone.

So the blemishes and the redness will look more even out :)

I don't know about other primer, because this is my first one.

Overall I am pretty pleased with it.

It's cream based, so it's prefect for someone like me that does not like the powdery feeling.

Easily applied too :D cause it's cream :)

Topping that, it has SPF35.

The sun protecting factor is actually higher than my sunblock which is only 30.

Can work as a sunblock too, but I still apply my sunblock before that :)

I really am not a big fan of heavy make up.

This one works just fine for everyday.

But the coverage is just average.

As for proper make up, you need to top this with a liquid foundation :D

The only downside of this,

I look rather pale after applying, maybe because it even out skin tone.

I usually top it up with a little blush and draw my eyebrows :)

That's my everyday to school look ;)

Takes less than 10 minutes to look good. Dayum.

Ta-da, this is how I look with the primer :)

Can see how even my skin tone was.

& That's Rachel btw.

Another plus point is that after using this product,

I actually don't need to edit my photos with photoshop to remove all the redness.

Really no regret buying this.

So for those girls out there with acne but too lazy to put on tones of make up.

This is just the right product.
It comes in 4 shades, but I am using neutralizer.
According to the sales assistant it neutralizes the redness on my skin ;)
Thus creating a more even skin tone :D

Cooking Means Burning The Kitchen

Thank god I didn't burn the kitchen the last week.

I was actually cooking dinner for the whole week.

Why?

That's cause my whole family went for a vacation,

& I refuse to eat crappy meals prepared by my maid :X

So why not cook?

Can prepare to get used to life in UK.

To be honest, life was quite tough last week :X

Classes, cooking and not even laundry yet :\

This was the epic failure.

The spaghetti was undercooked.

I was too hungry to even wait for it to fully cook -.-

Lesson learnt : Taste the spaghetti before taking it from the pot.

Then the black strips are actually onions,

I wanted to make them golden brown and crispy.

Like I said I was too hungry, then I fry everything with high fire :O

Then in the end it turned out black and not appetizing.

The only edible thing on the plate was the pork meatball :D

So basically I had a very bad dinner the first night :(

Dinner the 2nd night ;)

This was like x1000 better.

That's cause I tasted the spaghetti before I took it out the pot.

So spaghetti was smooth and soft :D

~~Not undercooked~~.

Mushrooms. Omnomnom.

Some of you might know me for hating mushrooms,

But after the trip to Melbourne tasting all the good button mushrooms,

I am really hooked onto it now.

First time cooking mushroom, but it isn't too bad.

Not sure if it's undercooked but it was still juicy.

Omnomnom.

Pork meatballs was just right.

You might be thinking why is it so pale?

Cause the night before I actually marinated it with soya sauce.

I think I prefer it this color, at least it doesn't look burnt.

By the 3rd night, I already have no idea what to cook.

Was really too lazy to cook also :(

Stressful to actually think of what to come up with to cook every night.

Stuffings for my tortilla wrap for the 3rd night.

Pan seared chicken breast.

Omnomnom. I only eat chicken breast by the way.

Some people might think, ew, it's so dry,

But it's just a misconception.

If you cook it properly, it can be juicy :D

Sometimes I tend to overcook it, but it was alright this time :)

Mushrooms and onions,

Well, at least the onions are not black like the previous time.

It was still crunchy :D

Mushroom wasn't overcooked too.

The thing about cooking mushrooms is that they actually have water coming out.

Like after that it'll have some mushroom sauce :D

Conclusion?

It's really stressful to come up with dishes to cook every night.

Then the cleaning up after cooking is not fun.

But what to do right?

If I don't cook then I'll have to eat air for dinner :O

In the end on Friday night, I was so lazy to cook,

I end up eating almond biscuits and plain tortilla wrap for dinner.

Just a tip, I was actually too lazy to cook dinner after day 1,

I actually have heavier lunch so I'll not have to cook heavy stuff for dinner :D

Good Food Never Beats Good Company

Hey all.

How's the weekend been?

Mine been really lazy.

Despite it being lazy, Saturday night was well spent.

Especially with people close to your heart.

Outfit for the dinner with Celine, Kevang and my sis :)

Black dress - Death Angel *bought this in Melbourne.

This dress might look ordinary.

Oh well, it's just any little black dress that every girl needs to have in their closet.

Now revealing the back of the dress.

I think it's quite difficult to look at it,

Just try squinting the eyes,

It's actually a corset back :D

Well, the corset back was the main reason I bought the dress :D

We went for dinner at Shangri-la Hotel.

International buffet dinner at Lemon Garden.

Well, I cannot deny this place is rather pricey, but it's one of my favorite place for buffet.

The ambiance was a little noisy yesterday cause they had song dedications.

I asked the others, the food was good, just that selection is rather small.

So if you're the type that goes for quantity over quality I think this is not the place for you.

Adding on something rather personal here,

I was expecting dinner to be quite awkward because my sister tagged along.

But thankfully it wasn't awkward. Not even a bit.

The really downside of the dinner was that they removed marshmallows from the fondue.

Like why? :(

What's chocolate fondue without marsh mallows :(

They had a wide variety of fruits to go with it though,

Dragon fruit, star fruits, grapes, strawberry and a few other ones.

Pictures? I am sorry, I was too busy omnomnom-ing.

Didn't even take a group picture, because I didn't bring my DSLR.

On the brighter side, they had a really unique Christmas tree.

I did take a picture of that :D

Shangri-la Hotel wishes you Merry Christmas.

I love looking at how every malls and hotel is putting up Christmas tree.

It's a joyous season this year?

Nah. It'll be a pretty alone one, but alone in the way I like :)

Din Tai Fung @ The Gardens, Midvalley

It was actually my first time dining in Din Tai Fung,

Been hearing a lot of good reviews about it,

Have yet to try it till yesterday when I was out with Josephine and Rachel.

The other 2 is a big fan of this place,

After trying their famous dishes, I think I am a big fan.

I always have been a fan of good chinese food :)

We didn't have to queue for seats,

That's because we had a rather late lunch.

From this I am assuming that during peak hours you'll have to queue for seats.

Siu Long Bao.

You really need skills to eat this.

The flour is so thin.

I actually popped one before managing to get it into my mouth.

There goes all the soup :(

No doubt that this is better than the ones they serve in Dragon-I.

Josephine said there's one with truffles, going to try that one day.

The soup was good and they are quite generous with the meat too :D

Siu Mai.

This wasn't the normal sit mai you see in the dim sum shop.

The prawn is actually outside :D

And the meat is wrapped in flour with soup inside,

So basically is like the siu long bao just that the flour was thicker.

I would say this is rather unique.

I would still prefer the normal siu mai you get from the regular dim sum shop.

Well, this is because I had siu long bao before the siu mai,

Rather repetitive.

Shrimp Fried Rice.

Wondering where is the prawn?

Sorry, I went eating the prawns before I came to taking the picture.

The prawn was really crunchy :D

Besides the crunchiness of the prawn,

Rachel and Josephine was saying that they want to talk to the chef.

Like ask him how to make such fantastic fried rice.

Couldn't agree more, the fried rice was the best ones I have tested so far.

No spot of darkened rice, it's oily but not too oily and it's just fantastic.

Fried rice fanatic should really give this a try.

Spotted this when I was buying bread in Lavender,

And since Christmas is close, so why not post it here?

Introduction to Drug Design Synthesis Project

Hey all readers.

This post is going to be filled with sophisticated tools found in the lab.

Basically this is for the IDDS module.

The one and only project.

In groups we were supposed to synthesize different type of drugs.

My group got anti-fungal.

Although is a group work,

Everyone in the group is supposed to synthesize their own anti-fungal compound.

This is practically one of the most interesting experiments I had done over the course.

One of the most torturing one too.

The lab stinks so badly, I almost died coughing my lungs away.

Chemical that has pungent smell, you don't even need to go near to smell it.

Even with the ventilation fan in the lab, they had to open the door,

That was how bad it was.

I actually coughed my lungs away and skipped afternoon lecture.

~~Okay, that is just an excuse to skip class.~~

Refluxing in the round bottomed flask.

First step was reflux for 30 minutes.

So what did I do for 30 minutes?

I was reading the lab procedures and scratching my head.

Because the instruction was a big paragraph :O

And because it was really hard to play with my iPhone,

That's cause I was wearing rubber gloves, and I could barely breathe with the mask :(

The long glass tube is actually a condenser.

The pipe are water in and outlet.

Heating the volatile liquid then quickly cooling them and then collecting the remains.

This was actually carried out in the fume cupboard, but it still stink up the whole place.

So what to do after refluxing it for 30 minutes?

Introducing Dr Randy and Dr Justin.

We had to do separating after that.

Look at what they are holding, that's the separating funnel.

All you do is shake the oil and water, leave it to stand,

Then remove the water layer.

Why separate?

I think it's to actually to remove impurities that dissolve into the water layer.

We actually did the separation 2 times.

Once with water and once with salt water.

Then after that we collected the oil layer,

Which you see in the separating funnel above,

The yellow part.

Then added some drying agent.

For what?

To remove all the water in the oil layer.

The next part is interesting,

How do you remove those drying agent?

The drying agent is actually powder.

We removed it using filtration.

Like duh.

But filtration with cotton wool is a new thing :D

Then some of us used so much cotton wool that nothing came out.

This is the rotatory planetary. (I think)

This is actually to purify the product.

Removing all the solvent.

Because the product is soluble in the solvent, hence filtration is not going to work.

We actually connect this machine to the pump,

This is to create the vacuum and so that you can suck all the solvent out :)

And in the end you are left with just the product :D

Like finally after 3 hours.

Look on your right hand side,

The small rounded bottom flask, that's where the product is,

Once you turn it on,

The flask is actually in contact with a hot water bath,

Then the machine will rotate in circular motion!

This is my product!

Like finally after 3 hours.

Believe it or not, I am not even close to done.

Have to do another round of purity test with Thin Layer Chromatography.

Amount of product I get after 3 hours = 1ml.

I am considered lucky to even have 1ml.

Sometimes you get less than this.

This solves the mystery of why medicine are so expensive :(

Because a lot of effort have been put into it.

Imagine those that drown the product in cotton wool and nothing came out.

Basically I had much fun in this experiment,

It's just that the smell really can irritate you :(

All the wheezing and coughing.

Just made me remember the first time when I smell ammonia during CAL.

Just A Year, Not Much Time

Hey all, readers

The year is coming to an end in another 3 weeks.

Have you guys all achieved resolutions set out starting of this year?

This got me thinking a little bit,

I don't think I have exactly achieved what I wanted academically,

But in the other aspect I have done well.

Better than I have expected actually.

I learnt to deal with the biggest fear in my life.

Gotten a lot closer to people that are worth it.

Loved and continue loving myself more dearly.

Started falling in love with what I do now.

Learning to appreciate people a lot more.

Improved fashion sense.

Found that they are too many things in life that I took too seriously.

Let go of some past that I cannot erase.

Basically I have really gotten more than I bargained for.

This is really not the main reason of the post;

Just felt like inserting this in.

School been busy,

This post is supposed to be about school, but I have been posting too much about it lately,

Readers might be getting bored.

"Synthesizing anti-fungal in the laboratory"

I actually just came back from shopping and dinner with the family.

Funny how I can browse through clothes and not buy anything.

I have no idea why, but just not really in a mood to buy stuff.

Nevertheless, I actually manage to get myself a simple black dress.

Highlight of the week: friday night.

Spent it with Celine and Fion.

Those days spent snuggling in bed doing nothing, just talking.

Staring at the ceiling, hugging pillows and just talking.

Well, I did most of the listening not much of talking.

Felt so grown up hanging out with them, because they are both working.

& I am still in school.

This was one long overdue post,

Wore this out the last weekend for dinner with my grandparents.

Because they are old, I am feeling a little retro.

Hence the polka dot :D

When A Pharmacy Student Consults A Doctor

I am so flooding my blog lately with entries.

Why?

Because I haven't been feeling well, been skipping afternoon lectures.

Hence the extra time.

This is bad habit, but oh well, the semester is ending in 2 weeks.

I finally found the reason to this constant weird cough and flu I am having.

Finally went to the doctor today,

I am actually having a throat infection :O

Last few weeks when I was down with the flu,

I actually thought the Clarinese I took at home was expired,

I actually went out to buy another strip to find out that it didn't work also.

It was quite an awkward conversation today in the doctor's office.

Doctor: So, I see you're studying in Taylor's University. So what you majoring in?

Ann: Pharmacy.

Doctor: Which year are you in now?

Ann: Year 2.

Doctor: Please describe your symptom.

Ann: Been having this bad throat, with constant headache and a bad flu.

Doctor: Open your mouth.

Ann: :O Is it some sort of infection?

Doctor: Do you happen to know if you're having any temperature?

Ann: No, but my body been aching since the past few days.

Doctor: Girl, you're having a slight fever too. Aching body is the first sign of temperature.

Ann: Okay.

Doctor: Why didn't you take any antibiotic the previous time?

Ann: I didn't go to the doctor.

Doctor: That explains why it came back after a week.

Ann: :(

Doctor: It'll get better in a few days. Cough syrup okay?

Ann: No no, I don't want cough syrup.

Doctor: You know very well there isn't any cough tablet right?

Ann: I know. It's not the cough, it's just the bad throat.

Doctor: As you like then.

I felt that was just like OSCA practice.

Well, I am supposed to be switching roles with the doctor.

Funny after all the OSCA practice, I just tell the doctor what she asked.

If she didn't ask then I didn't bother to bring it up.

After coming back from the doctors and taking my first course of medication,

I seem to be a little better now.

No more coughing and at least throat is still bearable.

But body is still aching.

Before going to bed after the medication just now,

A random thought just came by my mind.

A genius should invent cough tablets, then he'll earn lots of cash.

I never understood how people can take cough syrups.

I am totally turned off by them.

Firstly, they are so ugly.

Black or Dark Pink color.

Not to mention, they taste bad also.

Even those herbal remedies, like Pei Pa Kou, the thick black Chinese herbal syrup.

Yuck.

Most importantly, they don't even help you feel better,

They just make you sleep so you won't feel a thing when you're coughing in your sleep.

So basically I have compliance issues with cough syrups.

I guess the issue just gotten worse after I made some of it in the lab myself.

Right, is not just cough syrup, any sort of syrup.

~~I have problems swallowing them~~.

I don't get how some little kids like syrup.

As a kid, I hated them like crazy.

Whenever I see the oral syringe, which is the only syringe that doesn't prick,

I'll be petrified, I rather an injection than drinking syrup.

So maybe I'll start focusing on Formulation Science and Drug Design lectures,

To save all these people that hate syrups and give them a better alternatives.

Since I've been thinking about how I don't see myself as a retail pharmacist.

Need to find alternatives, ~~other than getting married and not worrying about life~~.

Not me, as I know.

What's the best activity for bonding?

Of course, steamboat lah.

Is quite shameful that we, members of the Taylor's School of Pharmacy,

Finally went out on the 1/12/2011. Like after 12 months.

Yes. We are the first batch of people.

Just blame it on the busy schedules;

They make you want to stay at home and laze on the weekends rather than bond.

Where for steamboat?

For people that want to use their lives to feast.

Of course, buffet. If not I cannot imagine how much the bill will come up to.

Venue then is Restaurant Shabu Shabu at Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

We paid RM30 per pax for the dinner,

It was really worth it.

The food was all on the conveyor belt,

So you can basically just pick out whatever you like.

Highlight : The fresh meat is really awesome.

Especially the pork, tried the chicken and the fish, they ain't too bad too.

By the end of the night, I lost count of how many pork slices I ate.

I didn't try much of their fish balls and the other processed stuff.

Not really a big fan of those,

& they make you feel bloated really fast.

The house sauce was good also.

The sauce that is used to dip the meat or your fish balls.

I am not sure what they put inside,

But it's a combination of sesame seed, fried onions and oil!

You can actually ask for more sauce after you finish what they served you.

I think many patrons will like this place because you get a pot to yourself.

Well, then for those who loves to eat internal organs and what not,

You can eat all you want without trying to have to accommodate to others.

This is basically a plus point for me because I really don't like steamboats with internal organs.

The other highlight was the yam ice cream.

I am not sure because I didn't try this, but all the others kept going back for more.

I tried their chocolate ice cream, not too bad too.

Super addictive, after one scoop you'll want another.

They have other desserts too like sherbets.

Drinks they provide?

You get to chose from a variety of drink,

Ice Lemon Tea, Green Tea, Orange Juice and Sky Juice.

What more to ask for when you only pay RM30 for dinner?

I am the biggest fan of steamboat.

I love going for expensive steamboats,

Especially those that serve only fresh food,

But this one is seriously not too bad to try,

Because their meat is really fresh.

I think other than the lobster ball, I didn't have any other processed stuff.

But of course to compare this with the Shabu Shabu I ate in Tokyo,

Still far away to go.

But hey, this is good enough to satisfy your cravings :D

Where I Was Broken I Was Healed

Hello folks.

I've been thinking for sometime whether to blog about this entry.

I guess, I should.

As this is my blog, I am sure all your readers are keen to read about my feelings too.

I have to admit I haven't been doing this for a really long time.

This blog post actually took me quite a bit, longer than usual to get it done.

Something personal, something close to heart that I am sharing tonight.

"A heartbreak, not just any normal ones, but my first heartbreak"

Well, it's the first, so it wasn't easy.

I don't think any heart break is supposed to be easy,

Irregardless of how many times you've gone through it.

First loves, teenage love, rather sweet isn't it?

The young spirit in you that believe it will work out,

First relationship, first hug, first time holding hands with the one you love, first kiss.

Unfortunately, every hello comes with a goodbye.

Really, I think there's really no good or bad time in saying goodbye.

No matter how gentle you try to be, someone is bound to get hurt.

The one that gets left behind, will just have to stand there and look.

For the one left behind,

What can you do, really?

When you find out all you ever wanted was gone with the wind,

You really have no choice, but to toughen up your heart,

& tell yourself that is going to be okay.

How is it ever going to be okay?

Even if it's not okay, life just have to move on.

What's the point of keeping someone when all they ever want was to leave?

What's the point of holding on, when no one going to catch you when you fall?

You really don't know how tough and strong you are,

Until you have no other choice but to be strong.

And of course, if you're lucky enough,

You'll have a few people that is there to always pick you up.

Then slowly, you'll learn that what is in the past should be left in the past.

You can never embrace the future if you're too attached to the past.

"Well, it's your first love, don't you wish things worked out?"

No. It never will. Because there's a reason why things don't work out.

Something was not there. Something was lacking in the relationship.

Then I learnt, when you give in too much, people will tend to take you for granted.

Slowly they tend to expect that it's expectant of you to do it for them.

"Do you regret starting the relationship?"

No. If it wasn't for this relationship, I will still never know what I want in my life.

If isn't for all the scaring and wounds from the past,

I will never learn how to stand up for myself now.

I will probably still be naive thinking that working hard to maintain a relationship is enough.

A good relationship requires more than hard work.

It requires 2 person reading on the same page.

& most importantly, it requires 2 person that wants to be together.

Arguments are not what tears 2 people apart.

Lying does.

"Do you wish to erase the past?"

No. Without the past, I'll never be the same person again today.

But there's really one part of the past where I will do anything just to erase it.

That's for saying sorry for what I feel.

Girlfriends been telling me, why did you even say sorry?

Yeah, why did I even say sorry?

That's like telling someone sorry for being real and true to yourself.

So girls out there, remember never say sorry for what you feel.

There's really a lot of things running through my mind now,

This blog post is rather a mess, I really want to write down every single thing,

But somethings are better left unsaid. I don't want to invite any commotion to my life.

Malacca Road Trip with BS2

Road trips are one the best way to bond with friends.

Went for a road trip with the Pre-University class mates.

Since A levels ended, I have been missing them loads.

Where to?

Malacca on a Monday.

The main purpose of the trip is just to hunt for good food.

Who can resist good food?

Omnomnom.

Jonker Walk.

There is where all the good food is hidden :)

Chicken Rice Balls.

I can't really remember when was the last time I ate this.

The steam chicken was really good :)

But really, nothing beats the chicken rice my mom cooked at home.

Lotus Biscuit.

Got this after lunch, on Jonker Walk also.

This was really good.

The lotus paste and the egg yolk inside is just love.

Looked like tao sa piah you get from Penang,

But tasted way better.

Omnomnom.

After strolling on Jonker Walk,

We headed to Dataran Pahlawan, Nadeje Cafe for mille crepe :)

Dark Mocha and Rum & Raisin crepe.

Crepe is basically like thousand layer cake.

I am not sure what's the ingredients but it's really good.

This is better than the Food Foundry in SS17.

The dark mocha was really good <3

Rum and Raisin wasn't too bad, but I am not the biggest fan of raisins :\

Green Tea & Original.

I think the original is vanilla,

Was really yummy too.

Green tea was just basically green.

I am seriously not the biggest fan of green tea,

& eating this hasn't really change my mind about green tea.

Tasted way too green for my liking.

Praline.

Not sure why this really is,

But it wasted like peanut butter to me,

Omnomnom.

This is my favorite, cause it tasted really unique.

So why is Nadeje better than Food Foundry?

Because you can really taste the layers.

You can taste the layers in Food Foundry too,

But is just really slimy and soft,

The ones in Nadeje is mores chewy and munchy.

I heard from Pey Tsyr that they are opening up in Sungai Wang.

Oh, you can actually take away all these and bring it back to KL.

They will provide you with dry ice packets.

Did we visit any historical building?

Yeah, of course we did.

That's because we were too bored after lunch while waiting for dinner.

Kota A Famosa.

We actually climbed up to the peak,

We were also wondering how come the fortress was built so far from the sea.

In the end I guess cause the part where Mahkota Parade was built on dredged land.

Hence explaining why the fortress was so far in.

After A Famosa, we headed to dinner.

Whats for dinner?

Satay Celup.

Planned to go to Capitol, but the crowd was crazy.

They start at 5.30pm and we were there at 5.30 and the queue was so long.

The shop was fully packed too :\

So in the end we decided to go to Bee Lee Siang at Jalan Ong Kim Wee.

That's one of the famous satay celup too.

Satay Celup-ing.

This was my first time.

The experience was good ;)

Just wished I could taste the peanut sauce.

Maybe because we didn't go to the best place for satay celup hence the lack of yumminess.

Bread and Yao Char Keuy with peanut sauce was the highlight of the night.

The fish balls and all are just average.

But it was really cheap though, only RM0.60 for a stick.

The only worrying thing is their satay sauce.

We were the first patron to start feasting on that table that day.

So we got a fresh pot of satay sauce,

After we are done and walked off, they just refilled the sauce and there you go next patron.

Then Aaron was asking if they reused the satay sticks.

& yes, I think they do.

Because the sticks are all really blunt and dark in color.

I feel that is quite dirty, but then again is only RM0.60 what do you expect?

After dinner we headed to Jonker Walk for desserts.

So what's for desserts?

Cendol.

I didn't eat desserts anymore.

Was way too full already to eat some more.

But the others carried on with it ;D

Non Sterile Preparation Done & Over With

Yay! Finally done with Part 2 of Formulation Science 1 lab sessions.

Next semester will be Part 1 - Sterile Preparations ;)

I am sure for those who keep up will actually find that this lab sessions are quite interesting.

I don't deny that they are interesting,

But the report writing is just seriously a pain in the ass :(

Finally done the last experiment this week,

Was a rather interesting one, but I think the most interesting will still be the calamine lotion.

So what did we make this week?

We made Aqueous Iodine Oral Solution.

If you don't know what's iodine solution,

It's actually that thing you put on your skin when you have a wound.

That dark solution that will stain your skin yellow.

We made this oral solution which is slightly different,

Is actually used for hypothyroidism.

This shiny thing is actually the iodine powder.

So pretty right? ;)

After the addition of potassium iodide.

The powder was actually white, but not sure why it turned this color.

I actually showed this to my mom over dinner and asked her to guess what is it.

She actually said this was chocolate sundae with peanuts.

Really? Does it look like chocolate sundae? I think it looks more like fried rice.

After dilution with water to form a concentrated solution.

Ringing some bells?

If you actually have a closer look to the darker region,

It actually resembles blood, as it is quite thick and dark :\

After this experiment when we were supposed to the QC analysis,

I actually ended up staining my fingers with this.

"Because have to open up the bottle and cap mah."

Guess when did i stain my fingers?

Right after Dr Patro asked us to be super careful with the solution.

Washing it wouldn't help.

So don't bother if you girls or guys out there have applied this on some wound.

Guess what did I end up cleaning my fingers with?

96% of ethanol.

It was actually a way Dr Patro suggested.

I actually enjoyed washing my hands with the ethanol.

Because it's really cooling, highly volatile liquid :D

The stain was really stubborn though,

Using the droppers to drop the ethanol wouldn't help,

So guess what did I do in the end?

I actually dipped my whole finger in the bottle of ethanol :D

~~If it's possible I would have dipped my whole hands in~~.

When Dr Patro saw, he sort of gave me the wtf face?

Then he told me,, "You just contaminated the whole bottle of ethanol"

Opps.

This is what I called monkey business and harmless fun in the lab.

Then after that I had to keep watching out for him before I dipped my fingers in the ethanol.

So conclusion, Formulation Science 1 Practical classes are really fun,

Other than the fact that you have to write tones of report,

And the FML-ness increased because Dr Patro want all of them to be handwritten.

& by that he expects good and clean handwriting :(

What have I learnt after all the 6 lab sessions?

Cough syrups made in the lab are really disgusting. I am not sure if they dispense the same one in the pharmacy but I am glad that I hate taking cough syrups.
Antacids are really gross smelling too. Peppermint flavors. Ew. Thank god I don't have the habit of getting them over the counter in the pharmacy.
Calamine lotion is cool! That's cause is pink in color. The stirring and pounding isn't fun though.
Making a perfect emulsion takes more than mixing everything up. It requires lots of strength, determination and muscles from the arms. Emulsions have to be triturated from solution with a viscosity of water to something that is as thick as your peanut butter.
In conclusion, I am now afraid of eating medicines. Not as if I am not afraid of cough syrups and those solutions, now I am even more afraid. I guess it's good then I'll take good care of myself.

So is this basically like what they say when you eat in restaurants.

Especially those super yummy ones at the roadside,

Go inside and have a look at the kitchen, then you'll never think the same.

Trust me, the lab is perfectly fine, is just the things we make are ...

Christmas Coming Early This Year

For getting me the Macbook Pro.

I actually started blogging on it since the last 2 post.

Totally in love with it.

Every penny spent is worth it ;)

The 2 most essential things I must have for classes.

You have actually served me well, Toshiba :D

5 years of hard work from it,

Completed high school, A levels and half my degree with it.

It's still sitting on my table and I still do most of my work on it.

I can't just bear the thought of shutting it down and not using it anymore ;'(

I think I develop feelings for the things I have.

For an example, my eraser.

I got super upset that day when I noticed that it went missing.

I never actually finished using an eraser in my whole life before.

Why?

Because when it's too tiny, it'll get missing before I manage to finish using everything.

One of the best feelings in the word;

Finding stuff that you thought you lost :D

I was actually so happy when I found my eraser that day beneath the laptop fan cooler.

I was actually happier that I found the eraser than getting the Macbook.

I actually found this after I bought a new eraser :\

School is still busy lately.

Another 3 weeks to winter break.

Haven't snapped much pictures of school happening these days.

They actually have ducks in the lake :D

Another thing to be happy about Taylor's University;

They don't force you to wear formal like IMU.

I really dislike dressing up in formal.

Makes me feel super stiff and of course restricted movement from the stiffness.

Dressing up in formal occasionally is fun too :D

Another cool thing that I did this week;

I actually managed to enter the Aseptic Suite ;)

So what's the Aseptic Suite?

It's actually a clean room, where they do all the formulation for sterile products.

Things like your injections and vaccine.

No pictures taken as it wasn't fully operational.

But it was quite cool, especially the efforts put into to make it sterile ;)

Like I stated in the previous post; I am super into the Xmas mood.

I actually got conned just now when I was doing some stationary shopping.

This was actually hanging on one of the shelves,

Being the curious me, actually went to have a look,

"Wah, so cute, I wanna buy and stick it on my iPhone"

I actually thought it was stickers, because that's what they show behind.

Super cute right?

They even have bling-ed cupcakes :\

And guess what?

I tried peeling the back only to find out that you actually have to use glue.

FML.

My sister was actually laughing at me;

Saying how I am 20 and still get conned so easily -.-

But who can resist cute stuff?

So in the end my sister took the gingerbread men and stapled it on her notes.

Probably I should do the same to my notes too;

Then maybe, I'll be more motivated to study since the note is cutie-fied.

So guess what I did in the end to replace the stickers?

My iPhone is cute again,

I used to have a ribbon stuck on it; but it attracted so much dust that I threw it away.

This is how my new love looks like :)

This machine is going to actually do me well;

And hopefully serve me another 5 years down the road like the previous one.

P/s: I am totally loving the trackpad. The bimbotic me actually thought of using

What A Girl Really Needs?

A good shopping partner!

To shop with her,

To search for cheap stuff together with her,

To feel happy after grabbing a good deal.

Finally went to check out the Year End Sales with Rachel.

Headed to Pavilion on a Saturday afternoon.

Was supposed to check out the warehouse sales in Fahrenheit 88.

Dropped by for a while, just to take a stroll.

It was definitely better than the Zara one,

Not humid and sweaty, air cond and at least no clothes on the floor.

I would actually say that I was quite disappointed with the sales.

Most of the stuff on sales are not basics.

Fashionable stuff to be worn after the season is just not cool.

Most of the things are also still very expensive after the discount :(

The good thing is that they still have lots of size 6 and 8 for petite people like me.

So did I get anything?

Nope.

That's cause I wasn't really in the mood to go thru the big pile,

Well there wasn't any pile, but still, just lazy to search for things.

And I was really broke, after the Macbook Pro.

Or probably I just had a perception that Pavilion was a better spending place.

This outing was really productive.

I actually went to Fahrenheit 88 which I haven't been to yet.

Then after that I actually checked out Sephora.

Which I was dying to go to.

It was actually a lot smaller than I imagine it to be.

But they have a lot of cool cosmetics there.

Probably when I have more cash I'll invest in some of the things there.

Then finally went back over to Pavilion.

Guess what?

I finally heard some Christmas songs.

I've been dying to hear them since last week.

I am so weird, I know right.

Yay! Christmas decoration is up.

They are all so pretty.

I actually love looking at all these,

They just make me happy.

Christmas means it's going to be a new year :D

So did I buy anything from the Year End Sales?

Yeap. Only a pair of basic black pants.

I actually tried on a couple of shoes, heels but I just couldn't find the one I like.

Not willing to spend more because I am really that broke.

I feel really accomplished today.

After Pavilion in the morning and afternoon, I actually came home and headed out again.

Where did I head to?

Dinner with dad before he fly in Bangsar Shopping Centre.

More Christmas decorations. Making me super happy ;)

I personally think this is nicer than the ones in Pavilion,

But sadly there didn't play any Christmas songs there.

They had lots of nice looking dark chocolates though :D

Now you know why I say the Bangsar Shopping Centre decoration is more beautiful?

Hello folks!

Tonight's post is going to be fun.

Yours truly went hunting for good food today.

I know it's been a while since I last uploaded a food post.

So here it is.

I have found a good place to eat Japanese Ramen.

It's probably the best Japanese Ramen I have eaten in Kuala Lumpur,

Totally reminded me of the ramen I ate back in Hokkaido and Tokyo.

Did not really have much of an impression of ramen in Hokkaido,

But the Tokyo ones made me think of them every time it rains or it's superbly cold.

Without delaying you guys further, I shall reveal the place.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka,

Tokyo Street, Pavilion Shopping Centre,

Kuala Lumpur.

Came here for super late lunch with Rachel today after shopping.

It wasn't really crowded but I can't really tell if it is during rush hour.

So what did I have for lunch?

I can't exactly remember the name,

Everything on the menu is in Japanese :\

I shall just write this in English and explain what is it, without it's Japanese name.

Roasted Pork Cheeks.

I know you might be thinking "what? who eats the cheeks?"

Thats what I thought too when I step inside the shop.

But since this is like the best seller and they only had a limited amount a day,

Why not right?

The meat is really tender.

It's written in the menu that is supposed to melt in your mouth,

Like how tuna belly melts.

I am not sure whether is it better than tuna belly because I don't eat them raw,

But yes, this actually melts in the mouth.

It has this fatty layer above the meat that make it super tender and smooth.

Rachel actually quoted "It's so soft that my grandma can eats them"

Ramen.

This actually came with the above in a set.

You can actually choose the soup base from 4 different types of soup that they had.

Initially I chose the salt flavor, but they made the wrong one for me.

But hey, this tasted fabulous also.

The soup is so rich!

Exactly like the one I had in Tokyo last year.

Ramen here really disappoints me,

Because the noodles taste like crap.

Most of the time, I just feel like I am paying for an overpriced maggi.

But this one is really good.

It's silky, smooth and in the same time, it has that kind of crunch.

Even Rachel agrees with me :)

She said it was munchy.

Omnomnom.

How much did I pay for lunch?

I paid a RM33.50 for that bowl of ramen.

They come in 3 different sizes.

I had small.

The serving was just right for me.

I didn't have to force myself to finish it,

Maybe that's why I am finding it really good,

Because when you forcefully force yourself to finish the food,

It really just takes away the awesomeness.

I wouldn't say it's a very cheap place to dine in.

But hey, if you're really craving for real authentic Japanese ramen from Tokyo or Hokkaido,

Then why not? ;)

I think it'll cause you more than that to fly to Japan just to satisfy your craving :)

Finally went out for dinner with her on her birthday. :)

We went to Delicious in 1u.

Angel Hair tossed in Smoked Salmon and Caviar.

Then had Brownies for desserts.

I wanted to grab churros after that, but I gave up.

Guilty and probably too full :D

I was actually super excited for the dinner because it was ages since I stepped out the house.

From all the assignments and work.

& it's really different going out with family compared to friends.

There's actually affogato in Lavender and Delicious,

Haven't gotten the time to go there to try yet.

Dark Chocolate from Koko Black.

I didn't get to try this back in Melbourne,

But I didn't get this also when I saw it in Ben's General Food Store in Bangsar.

Super addicted to dark chocolates nowadays that the 68% is no longer bitter.

I guess the tongue is getting immune to it.

Was just wondering that day when I had nothing to do whether do dark chocolates come with nuts?

I love chocolates with nuts.

As if chocolates themselves are not sinful enough :(

100% I am eager to try this.

Wonder will I be able to open my eyes after that.

Probably going to lose my ability to taste for a bit after that one bite.

So going to try all this awesome stuff one day.

Warehouse Sales, Queue, Going Through Piles of Clothes.

Although in the previous post,

I did mention I was super busy because of school work,

I actually managed to squeeze sometime for warehouse sale on Thursday afternoon.

Couldn't wait till the weekends to get super cheap stuff.

Yeap, I went for this :D

It was my first time going for a warehouse sale, with the girls from university :D

Good bonding time & super good for cardio-ing also.

Can eat all the sinful stuff after that.

Why so?

Because it was so hot, stuffy and humid.

I actually wore shorts and a very thin sleeveless top.

& I was sweating like a pig.

The crowd was overwhelming.

The queue actually started from the car park :O

It took us ages to actually pay for something.

I guess this is the extra price you have to pay to get discounted items.

Thank god everyone managed to buy something, except for Justin.

That's cause he said he gave up once he entered the hall :)

We girls actually went through the pile and manage to get more than one thing each.

Super strong will when it comes for digging for beautiful clothes.

I personally is super satisfied with the sales.

Other than the very hot and messy venue.

Clothes was everywhere, even on the floor :(

WHY? They are supposed to be appreciated and not treated like trash.

Calamine Lotion, Syrup and ChemDraw

Greetings to all who still stumble upon this page.

Sorry for the negligence.

Last 2 weeks been really busy.

School,work load, and social life.

This week is still as hectic, but there's no class on Wednesday.

& I self declare holiday today ;(

Feeling a little under the weather ;)

There's probably too much to update everything in one post;

I shall divide it, this post will mainly be talking about school.

Year 2 Pharmacy Student. Formulation Science Practical Class :)

Fun. If there's no reports to write after that :)

At least now I don't take an hour to access the British Pharmacopoeia like previously.

Thank god for technology.

All I need to do is key whatever I need to find out ;)

& ta-da it's there.

Okay, so what's the British Pharmacopoeia?

It's like a recipe book you used for cooking,

Where they record how all the drugs is synthesized.

Active ingredients and all the other addictive.

To come clean, after a year in pharmacy school,

I haven't seen or touch or used the real British Pharmacopoeia in the library.

I only know there's 6 volumes.

So what did I do in the lab for this 2 weeks?

Making syrup, antacid and calamine lotion ;D

Dissolving my sucrose in water.

It's really not an easy job, you got to keep stirring till everything dissolves.

Was really tough.

There was more than 100g of sucrose needed to be dissolved in 70ml of water.

It was really viscous and hard to work with also.
Sticky everywhere :(

Syrup BP.

Guess what?

We actually had to pour everything out and start conducting the QC test after the experiment.

It was really eww, cause it's so sticky :(

Bottle marks on tables and sticky fingers.

Thank god I did mine near the sink and not next to my practical report.

But it was really fun to go through all the different type of QC test :)

Not much pictures taken for the antacid as it wasn't so interesting.

Lets proceed to calamine lotion.

I have an affinity to calamine lotion since I was a little kid.

Works like a charm, when you have itch or rash.

Works even better if you refrigerate the bottle. Yum.

Ingredients to make calamine lotion.

The pink thing is actually calamine powder.

Yesh, it's actually pink in color :D

The grey stuff, bentonite, is really annoying.

It's like cement powder, everything just starts coagulating after adding it.

The mixture, after addition of glycerol and water.

And of course after lots of pounding and stirring.

Then here they are, calamine paste.

I think if I continue working at the back fixing all this formulation,

I'll end up having super toned arms,

All the formulation work requires lots of pounding and stirring :(

Working with this paste wasn't my favorite thing.

Because it was so hard to pour the paste from the mortar to the bottle.

& what's more, everything was everywhere.

I had calamine paste on my book, lab coat and gloves.

Thank god they are not sticky.

It was so funny during this practical class that Dr Patro got pissed.

Because we managed to break 3 glass rod in this session.

"We are only given 2 hands by god, why you carrying 3 mortars at the same time?"

Fortunately or sadly, no one manage to break the mortar and the pestle.

1-butyl-2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole on ChemDraw.

This is actually for the Introduction to Drug Design & Synthesis Module.

Really wasn't too keen to stay back on a Friday and work on this in the school computer lab.

Had to stay back till 4 something :(

I might be fascinated by ChemDraw but trust me, I am no tech savvy.

I think by now I would have forgotten how to draw structures using it :(

& the workshop was rather frustrating?

I could barely understand what Dr Selva wants and he's extra PMS-ey that day.

Oh well, just 2 more weeks then I am done with this project.

If you're wondering what I am synthesizing, I am making novel anti-fungal drugs.

Haven't really been into the lab to start "making" yet.

So that's practically what I did.

Oh yes, I finally submitted my literature evaluation coursework.

So happy I am done and over with it.

That has been taking up most of my time on the weekends :(

Next week is still super busy.

Formulation Science 1 Practical Class

Formulation Science 1.

What do we do in this module?

Basically we study about how to formulate the drug.

Theory class is a dread :(

But practical class is just a whole new thing.

Superbly fun, because we get to ~~play~~ do work in the lab.

While lectures you only sit down and listen to Dr Patro talk about Newtonian fluid.

I wasn't too happy when I had to attend class at 9am on Thursday.

Well, it was an extra one, because we were supposed to do this on Tuesday morning.

After all the fun, I don't really care about waking up at 6 in the morning anymore :D

But then again, Dr Patro isn't the best person in the lab.

He doesn't scream, but he keeps his eyes on you.

Wanna take picture also need to hide somewhere, or when he turn his back :\

From the left;

Mouthwash.

Lemon Flavored Cough Syrup.

Potassium Permanganate Disinfectant.

So much of a hassle to make the cough syrup.

All the pounding on the mortar, grounding the raw material,

Pouring the super sticky syrup (which I was very tempted to taste),

& trying to dissolve everything in the chloroform water.

I swore my muscles will get toned if I have to prepare this formulation everyday.

All the stirring with the glass rod :(

Nevertheless, the lemon flavoring smell good,

Call me weird, I actually think it smell like the dish wash soap. :\

Thank god, I never take cough syrup whenever I cough.

The truth is, they are self resolving, so you don't need any cough syrup.

Next next, more fun stuff.

Potassium Permanganate.

I am sure every chemistry student know what this is.

Deep purple solution that turned brown after exposed to air.

Personally I hate working with this,

You can never wash off the stain when it gets on your shirt.

& every semester in A-levels, I'll have at least one or 2 page of my lab practical book stained with this.

Pounding the Potassium Permanganate powder with distilled water.

Deep purple that's almost black.

Hate working with this because you can never read the measurement in the beaker after pouring it in.

Guess what?

I actually spill quite a lot of this solution over the bench.

The beaker was stained, the table was purple,

& thank god my book was safe :D

Should have taken a picture of the gloves I wore.

Still evil. But in a lighter shade that's pretty.

I am no big fan of potassium permanganate.

I haven't checked my lab coat yet, but I am sure there's some fresh stain there.

Oh, speaking on that, the last time I washed my lab coat was in my sem2 of A-levels.

& I am doing my Year 2 now.

Imagine how good it smell :D

My cooking utensils.

One habit I can't seems to get rid of,

Using too much paper wipes in the lab.

At least I am better this semester,

During A-levels I used to use the whole roll of paper wipes they give us :D

At the end of the practical,

We actually had to switch with each other.

For what?

Quality Control.

Feeling so pro already :D

We were actually to pour everything out to check.

Volume, smell, turbidity and color.

In the end, I was too lazy I didn't even bother to pour everything out.

Do you know how hard is it to clean the cough syrup?

It's super sticky and oily.

Ewww.

But I wasn't the only one.

In the whole, I HAD FUN.

We all had fun.

After practical class, I can see everyone posting pictures on their Facebook :D

Then again, too much playing in the morning, I can barely focus in the afternoon lecture.

Basically there's quite a few things I haven't done.

More like half of the list. :(

But this holiday was well spent.

Except for the fact that the doctor lied about the HPV jab.

It hurts more than one day.

Again, it depends on individuals, my sister didn't have much problem with it like me :(

How have you guys been coping?

Happy Deepavali!

One week off lectures and classes,

This means it's calling for hanging out, catching up and bonding.

Just something to spend time together with those lovely friends ;)

Went to hung out with Pey Tsyr and Chin Wei today;

A-Level buddies that seems to be a lot of fun :)

Venue was 1u.

We headed for brunch first,

Our favorite spot for catching up over good food,

Delicious :)

Angel hair tossed in cream with Smoked Salmon & Caviar.

Personally, I am not a big fan of angel hair,

Too fine for my liking.

This was good ;) no complains other than the smoked salmon being overly salty.

It was actually alright when you eat it together with the angel hair :)

4 Cheese Macaroni.

Heavenly with all the macaroni swimming in cheese.

Love them to little bits,

I think that the branch in Bangsar Village serve a better version though :)

Strawberry Cheese Cake.

We actually had entree for sharing;

To make tummy space for desserts.

What's going to dine in Delicious without their desserts? ;D

Not a big fan of strawberry, really.

The cheese cake was really awesome,

Especially the bottom, the oat biscuit <3

& the strawberry sauce or whatever you called it tasted like cough syrup to me :(

Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Sauce & Vanilla Ice-Cream.

This thing can make me go Ga-Ga.

I can ignore my healthy diet although I need to be on one just to eat this.

The chocolate is so rich that it makes me melt & scream for more.

I actually spent some good time laughing during the movie;

My greatest fear of going to the cinema toilet actually didn't occur today,

Since I had Pey Tsyr to go to the loo together.

I just think that cinema toilets are really creepy.

Most of the time is so dim;

And I always find myself in the toilet alone most of the time.

School Of Pharmacy Year 1 Brunch

Finally gotten to meet the Year 1 last Thursday for brunch.

Was quite enthusiastic to meet them;

But from the respond that day, I am sure they are more eager to meet us.

Overall, I had fun over brunch.

Getting to meet new people;

Then bonding and getting closer to current classmates.

& of course, something that I can't miss out on,

Camwhoring.

Camwhoring that day brought things to the next level,

Because we camwhored with DSLR, canon 600D and Nikon 5100.

Too damn awesome ;)

Food for brunch;

It wasn't amazing, but good enough.

I was actually starving the whole morning,

So yeah, no complains.

For events like this; I think food comes secondary.

It's the company that matters most of the time.

Greetings to all out there.

How have your weekends been?

This weekend was meaningful for me.

Although I had to wake up at 4am on a Saturday,

Then stand under the scorching hot sun fora few hours,

& got a splitting headache after that.

So what did I do on a Saturday morning?

I actually helped out in a charity event.

Faisal Cup 2011.

It was held at Kompleks Belia Dan Sukan, Kampung Pandan.

It's basically like a sports day for all these under privilege children from different orphanages.

This was actually run under the Dignity for Children foundation with UNHCR.

It breaks my heart to see that these little children are living in poverty.

Like how they don't even have a safe place to play,

No proper education.

Worst of all, is not having a place to call home to return to.

Watching the event myself,

I learnt that activities like this will make all of us, blind.

Blind in the sense that we come together irregardless or race or nationality.

Seeing how supportive are they for each other really do melt my heart.

Really worth waking up at 4am,

Going to university at 5.30 just to watch this happen.

I think I am addicted to this good feeling after doing something that will change people's life.

I guess I shall let the pictures do the talking now ;)

They didn't have enough people,

And since some of the fellow classmates is going,

World Food Day 2011

Date : 16th of October 2011.

Venue : Multipurpose Hall, Taylor's Lakeside Campus.

I actually volunteered in an effort to end world hunger ;)

I feel so proud of myself.

Some people in other parts of the world is starving :(

While here, back at home, I am choosing what to eat and what not to.

Worst of all, I keep having "wants" instead of needs.

Time to contribute to human mankind before I rot in guiltiness.

Wasn't my first charity event, but it's the first that I felt I made a difference.

I actually help packed meals and box the meals :)

& I didn't nibble on the food that we are supposed to pack.

~~That's cause is all dried food.~~

Well, I saw people eating the soy while packing them.

Somehow, the dried vegetables smell really appealing too :B

1 sachet of vitamin packets.

1 cup of soy.

1 spoonful of dried vegetables.

1 cup of rice.

There you go for a meal.

A meal that meant more than a meal for some people out there.

One day. One million meals.

That's the target this year; not sure if they achieved it, cause I went home mid afternoon.

I would have to say that yesterday was the best Sunday I spent.

Can't believe I am saying this;

Because I woke up really early, stood all day and made a difference in someone's life.

Not one person but maybe one family ;)

How have your weekends been?

Mine was good, eventful, like I mentioned in the previous blog post.

Had dinner with the extended family on Saturday night.

Venue : Mutiara Palace.

Seriously, this place serves the best shark fin.

Generous with crab meat and it's steaming hot.

Yumm.

That's cause I was too hungry that I went omnomnom.

I had it the week before this week with the maternal extended family.

Of Dispensary Class & Drug Synthesis Lecture

Hey all.

I know is not a norm for me to update on a Tuesday,

Today will be an exception.

That's because I am a happy girl today.

I am extra happy because I just ended a really long day in uni.

Surprisingly, it was fun, despite the long hours.

& 6 more hours of lectures to attend before the weekends come.

This weekend is going to be happening.

You guys must be thinking that it's too early to judge,

Since is only Tuesday today,

Noh, I have a feeling that this weekend will be a good weekend :)

3 hours of dispensary workshop this morning with Dr Patro.

Well, he's this new guy teaching the module - Formulation Science.

I think we kind of piss him off today with the stalking people on Facebook and talking,

Instead of listening to him.

Well, this is what you get when you have your students placed in front of the computers.

Real interesting stuff that I did was to actually go into the room where they kept all the drugs.

Well, I wasn't supposed to be in there, looking and going "ooo"

But the doors were not locked this morning and no one was there,

Being a little adventurous I went in and have a look.

The pharmacy school do have a lot of drugs in there.

Nicely packed, and not expired ones.

Which means you can eat them :B

Only after dispensing class that I regretting not snapping a picture down :(

I actually got quite a sarcastic remark regarding my writing above.

Hence the red circle around it.

I think he's a fussy guy :x

He actually told me "No bad handwriting on the labels"

After looking through 3 person's handouts out of 24,

He decided to just ask us to computerized everything before his eyes go O.O

But then again, I can't imagine how he'll cope with my beau-ti-ful exam hand writing.

Today, I basically received more sarcasm remarks that I had in one week.

Especially during Dr Selva's Drug Synthetic lecture.

"I am sure all of you can really remember your anatomy, what else about physiology?"

Well, you're right, I am not going to find any excuse to defend myself.

Then during 2 hours of Dr Kan's biotechnology lecture,

I was practically restless,

Moving about in that tiny confine space of mine,

Because they decided to give us chairs with fold-able tables :(

So to claim my right of not having a table, this is what I did.

I pulled the chair in front which is empty,

And put my feet on it.

Claiming my so called "table"

Dr Kan was actually staring at me when I did that cause I was in front.

Then I got bored and I started taking pictures of this with my iPhone,

there's certain pictures that I purposely make sure he's inside too :D

Hmm.

I don't think my resolution in my Semester 3 includes taking pictures of lecturers,

& being restless in class.

This is why I absolutely hate afternoon lectures.

First Week of Year 2

First week of university after a long summer break.

I welcomed Year 2 with both arm opened wide :)

I think I am pretty much settled down already.

Came up with new resolutions to keep this semester.

My resolutions for this semester:

I will attend all lectures.

I will not be late for class.

I will listen in class.

I will ask questions when I don't understand.

I will revise on a daily basis.

I will not fall asleep during afternoon lectures.

I will do all my in course assignments properly.

I will not scrap my way through to pass only.

Pretty much that's it.

Some from the previous semester is carried forward.

I mean why not if they are good resolutions to keep? :)

Timetable this semester is quite cool.

Mostly 3 hours lecture then off I am as a free soul.

On practical lab classes day, I just have an extra 3 hours.

So basically, there's really a lot of time for revision.

& I really hope I follow the resolution I came up with.

Clearly, there isn't any excuse why I am not performing anymore.

So what do you do when you pass hectic Year 1 and welcome Year 2?

It's a call for celebration!

No, I didn't get near to boozing or clubbing :)

Just a simple lunch with the uni mates.

Our venue that day was Sunway Pyramid since we had lecture at 1pm.

Is the food quality any better than the ones in 1 Utama and Bangsar?

Nah, I can't really judge since I ate something else that day.

& It was my first time having it.

But their service is fairly poor though.

Besides scoring for Cardiff next year,

I have to score well because I have so many things on my wishlist.

Probably a better score will allow me a little more cash.

No, I am still not ready to get back for classes.
Lucky next week's classes is only like 2 hours everyday :)

I finally went for lunch with Fion today.

She claims that I have been MIA big time.

Before bidding goodbye just now she said;

"I don't know in how many months more I'll see you again"

Our venue for this afternoon;

Gardens @ 1 Utama.

Ambiance in there.

Seriously, I don't know why,

But the floor tiles reminds me of public toilet.

Such a turn off :(

This place doesn't have the best service too.

The waiter serving us is just plain weird.

Firstly, we ordered warm water and ice honey lemon.

He gave us ice water.

Then we wanted to order and he gave us the blank stare.

Like seriously?

Wild Mushroom Soup.

Tasted better ones,

The portion was really big.

If I had this for myself, I don't think I need an entree anymore.

Mashed potatoes.

Taste just like potatoes.

Well, like duuuh?

Nothing great.

Haven't found any that beats the ones they serve in Chilis.

Spaghetti Cabonara.

The Parmesan cheese was overwhelming.

Just like any other cabonara that puts me off,

I can barely find the courage to eat this again the next time I come.

Ice Honey Lemon.

Nothing fancy or great.

After drinking this; my body is still severely dehydrated :(

Probably need to grab some re-hydration salt soon.

I have a theory about places like Gardens & Full House.

You pay just for the ambiance and not the food.

But seriously, I don't like the public toilet tiles today :(

I think most of their food is just frozen food that you reheat when people order.

Relatively, lunch was cheap comparing it with the portion we get.

Company was good.

I was in a good mood.

So I had no fuss to complain about :)

Despite the bad service & the uncomfortable chair,

Surprisingly, my mood was still good :D

So the question now is "What did I wear this afternoon?"

Ta-da.

Simple cause I don't feel like dressing up.

I guess this outfit is good enough compared to turning up in shorts and tee.

The chairs there was so uncomfortable that I had to tell her to head over to her place :(

& what do 2 people do after a heavy lunch in a room?

After lots of camwhoring then it's catching up time.

Listening from her, I think my life lack of drama.

No. I am not complaining.

Her life is just too happening.

Apparently she's obsessed with the way I smell.

She keeps thinking that I leave the house with perfume on every time.

Fion: Hmmm. You put perfume today? You smell good.

Ann: Nope.

Fion: Then is it your body lotion? *touches my hand*

Ann: Nope. I think I just naturally smell good :)

But in the end she managed to identify where the smell came from.

Fion: I think it's your hair.

Ann: You wanna smell or sniff my hair?

Fion: What shampoo you use a? :D

Ann: You're just too obsessed with me.

I am perfectly straight.

I just keep having girls that compliment me.

Occasionally I'll have girls kissing me on cheeks too <3

Now, I am wondering if I am attracting the wrong sex.

One more week,

Before summer holidays come to an end.

This summer was well spent,

Although half of it was spent in university sitting and preparing to finish my year 1.

The other half was spent with those close to heart.

So what have I done over this summer;

Passed year 1 and scrape through my physiology module.

Went on a vacation with the family to Turkey.

Visited my best friend in Melbourne.

Spent lots of time with Kee Aik and Chee Hung.

Ate, shop and pamper myself like crazy with Kevang.

Found my Chinese food buddy, Audrey.

Knew a couple of awesome people in Melbourne, Cheryl & Sherwin :)

Spent time lazing and gossiping with Fion over lunch :)

Started my project of the year <3

Bid farewell to Chee Hung :( (thank you for always being there)

Drank like a fish when I was in Melbourne.

Partied like crazy for the past 2 weeks. Like 4 times of clubbing & drinking in 2 weeks :O

Shisha-ed for the first time. (this is so not my thing)

Played mah-jong with friends for the first time at bab's place :D

After that whole lot of activity,

I think I grew to be more to be a happier individual.

Thank you, awesome people for making me awesome :)

Scanning through all my personal files on my laptop;

I think I have already edged out of the "dark" times.

Never will be able to make it out without these people that loves me so dearly.

Year 2 starting in a week.

Just got my academic calender.

I ain't too happy with it because there's no holidays till summer next year.

But then again, with Kee Aik & Chee Hung gone in UK,

Who is going to plan and fetch me out on a Friday night or weekends? :(

So might as well really prepare myself for year 3 in UK the next year :)

What a productive summer eh?

I am back from my really good getaway.

Melbourne treated me well.

Love the food and place.

Probably going to my next city to stay in other than KL.

So depressing to announce that all my pictures from my DSLR is gone.

My memory card just decided to go wonka.

Tried restoring but to no success.

I really want my Docklands pictures back :(

My mom was kidding about telling me is fated for me to go back there again.

Ugh. That will be another few years from now :(

I partied like a rockstar,

The chocolates there are just plain awesome,

Especially the chocolate affogato in Coco Black.

Churros dip with Dark Chocolate in San Churros.

Max Brenner was kind of like a disappointment,

I guess cause I had too much of an expectation from pictures I've seen.

Had the best grilled lamb in my life too,

It was in Stalactites.

Supper after clubbing on my touchdown night. ;)

The whole high light of the trip that I cannot forget is,

St Kilda beach.

The breeze was so soft the night I went,

The stars shining upon the sky,

The lighting at the harbor,

The tranquility in the air,

The full moon in the sky.

It was only a matter of 72 hours;

When I unpacked my luggage from the previous vacation.

Now, I am back to packing up again.

Where am I heading to this time?

Melbourne, Australia.

Yeah, to meet all the fellow love there :)

Vang just came back starting of the week,

We were supposed to go together though;

But she her break was way earlier :)

Thus, I am flying alone this time.

Woots.

The last time was a long time ago.

I can't even remember when.

Celine & Janine been telling me shopping there is heavenly.

Reminding me to bring a bigger luggage so I can shop.

Guess what?

Travel SOS #1- Luggage is too small.

Before even going & I already have so much things to bring;

I don't even know how to fit everything in.

Helping Celine transport her PS3 there too.

Travel SOS #2- Lifting the luggage.

My travel bag has rollers.

But then again, I need to lift it off the conveyor belt at luggage collection.

With the stuff I am bringing;

The luggage will is going to be heavier than me :(

Blue Sky & Sunshine Vacation

Greetings to all,

Just got back from a family vacation not too long ago.

Destination was Turkey.

First time travelling to a place so far.

Overall the trip was fun.

It would have been better if they had more yummy food.

Sight seeing really did open up my eyes.

Remaining of the Roman Empire and the Ottoman Period.

I love how the sky is cloudless there.

The sky is so pretty too. 3 shades of blue ;)

At some point of the vacation it was really hot like an oven though.

Shall let the pictures do the talking now ;D

Braised Mutton with Mashed Eggplants & Goat's Cheese.

It tasted good.

Despite me not eating eggplant; but this was really good ;)

Turkish food have lot's of goat's cheese in them.

Goat's cheese is rather sour-ish.

They have lot's of pretty glassware like this too :)

My mom was so tempted to buy them.

But then again; How to bring them home? :\

In remaining of one of the earliest mental hospital.

Then I found out that serpent's in pharmaceutical field means healing.

Yes, I shouldn't be doing my degree in Taylors.

Should probably stay here with those stones and grass :(

Kebab.

Yes, Turkey is aka kebabland to me :(

Maybe I expected too much of the kebab, but it tasted horrible.

Skin was as thick as roti canai & not tortilla wrap :(

They only have like a handful of diced chicken meat.

I think it was less than 10 pieces ;(

& guess what's the rest?

Green peas and carrots with capsicum.

I ain't the biggest fans of green peas.

Every time I dig into that, I get green peas :(

Looks can be really deceiving.

Visited the place where Virgin Mary used to reside.

No photograph to share though.

I actually made a prayer in there.

& I am now waiting for my prayers to be answered ;)

That's because I am leaving the best for the last.

By this, I mean my Medical Law and Ethics.

I'll be mugging that for the whole day tomorrow and probably half of Friday.

The more I study, the more psychic power I have.

Now, I think I have attained the power to tell the future.

I can feel that I will be super grumpy and emo tomorrow.

All boring stuff.

I really really salute to those pursuing a law degree.

Biology is bad,

But law is worse in my opinion.

At least I get to see pictures of things in biology, ~~like a naked man~~.

Dad's birthday celebration on Saturday before he left for overseas again.

Headed down to Mizu, at Bangsar Village.

Food was so-so,

Still prefer the branch at TTDI.

Wasn't in my best mood yesterday night for feasting.

That's cause I was so reluctant to wake up from this wonderful afternoon nap.

So what have I been up to lately?

I haven't been doing much.

Practically staying at home everyday to mug for finals ;(

Been doing some thinking though.

Since one of my best friend will be celebrating her first year anniversary with her boyf.

And the fact that I am single,

So yeah, some stuff been playing on my mind.

That's to the past.

Does that mean I am ready to date someone?

Nah.

It's not that guys are not appealing, or I am more inclined to dating girls.

Is probably just that I need some breathing space,

Before I get myself into another relationship.

It might be a life time ago when I tried recalling stuff from the past,

But that doesn't mean I don't remember how good the feelings was.

That doesn't mean another person cannot make me feel that way.

Maybe is just the heart, refusing to open up.

Because of fear.

Fear of failure,

So afraid that I'll fall out of love,

Ended up hurt again.

It took me so much to be where I am now.

Can't imagine myself relapsing and getting myself into trouble again.

Those nights when I had to switch off my phone,

I head to bed early because I am afraid of being alone when everyone is asleep.

Those days when I constantly text people to know that I am loved.

Those days when I can barely log into social networking sites.

Times when I spend pouring my emotions to people who cares.

Times when I took hours in the shower, because that's where I am safe alone.

Pretending to smile when people ask me whats wrong.

Convincing myself that I deserve a lot better after everything I've done.

& believing I am better than the mess I ended up as.

& after all those pain.

You think I've not learnt the lesson?

Sometimes people ask if I am ever lonely.

And my answer is always NO.

You might think I am faking it.

But the truth is,

If you're in a commitment with someone that doesn't love you,

That's more lonely than being alone.

Pretty much spent the last 6 months searching for myself,

Like what I enjoyed doing,

Reading all the books I wanted to,

Getting back on track with academics.

Self exploration is more fun I would say,

At least I won't end up hurting myself,

Because I don't do drugs or smoke pot :)

This statement just made deaf people a lot more sexier.

& probably they are better lovers.
